Shock horror: Samsung's Nexus Two rumoured to look similar to Samsung's Galaxy S

Gizmodo is reporting that a source has had some hands on time with Google’s follow-up to the Nexus One.

The Nexus Two, which we reported on yesterday, will be made by Samsung rather than HTC. Indeed, the source is reporting that the new device “feels really similar to the Galaxy S in a lot (of) ways.”

Which really doesn’t come as any surprise or disappointment to me. After all, the Nexus One - while a fairly snazzy dresser - still wore its HTC heritage on its sleeve.

Google’s clearly fairly hands-off when it comes to hardware design, and the Galaxy S (pictured) is a handsome (if slightly derivative) handset.

While the glossy black plastic materials and 4-inch screen of the Nexus Two appear to be the same as Samsung’s flagship device, there are one or two differences.

The device reportedly features a “sort of concave" front with hard edges and a curved back that makes it feel a little slimmer than the Galaxy S. As that device was hardly a porker itself, that’s quite an achievement.

It’s been rumoured that Samsung will announce the Nexus Two officially on November 8th.
