As with the parallel universe theory, so with the design of iOS physics puzzlers.

So just as somewhere, in another version of England, there's a corner that's nothing to do with Robert Graves, so there's an e-book store containing a book called Apples Aren't The Only Fruit, and an app store with a game called Cover Banana.

But, we're not in that universe, so we're previewing the peculiarly named Cover Orange HD.

At least, the gameplay is straightforward in terms of similar titles such as Ragdoll Blaster, Fragger, Implode! and Saving Private Sheep.

Duck and cover

On various 2D levels, you move around shapes, dropping them in such a way to cause reactions that cover the Orange characters from the grinning cloud that will eventually sweep across the sky, dropping balls of acid rain death as it goes.

Yeah, it's a fairly freaky concept, but with a wide range of interactive objects such as blocks, barrels, wheels, hinges, bombs, hammers, and chains available, it would appear to offer solid physics gameplay for budding Newtonists to prove that to every action there's an equal and opposite reaction.

Cover Orange HD, which is developed by Russian studio Johnny-K from its popular Flash game, and published by FGD, will be available soon for iPad.

You can see how it plays in the following video, or try out the Flash version for free here.
