Galaxy on Fire 2 to support Game Center on iPad

HD version delayed to November so as to support Game Center

Galaxy on Fire 2 to support Game Center on iPad

Galaxy on Fire 2 will be available on iPad separate from the iPhone and iPod touch version in order to support Game Center in the forthcoming iOS 4.2 update.

Developer Fishlabs detailed the decision to us exclusively, explaining that the iPhone and iPod touch version of the gorgeous space epic is still on track for later this month.

Integrating Game Center in the iPad version, however, requires a short delay that will result in the game being released sometime in November. Apple is expected to release iOS 4.2, which includes Game Center for iPad, next month.

It'll be worth the wait, if our hands-on with the game is any indication. While it's stunning to look at on all three devices, the iPad version looks the closest to a console game than perhaps any iOS title to date.

That's not just graphics and audio - Fishlabs has been working hard over the last year re-engineering the former mobile title with new gameplay mechanics, controls, and DLC modules.

Galaxy on Fire 2 will be available for iPad in November; the iPhone and iPod touch version will be released on October 27.
