Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition: new touch control details

The upcoming 3DS instalment of classic fighting series Street Fighter is stirring things up again.

Not content with being the first full handheld port of a console Street Fighter title, being the series' first 3D game, and with pioneering the new 'over-the-shoulder' camera, the game now boasts interesting touch controls, too.

According to Japanese games blog Andriasang, Capcom's official website now explains how the touchscreen will be used in the game.

The bottom screen will be used to display four touchable command boxes, to which you'll be able to assign shortcuts for various moves.

These can include throws, standard specials like Shoryukens and Hadoukens, Super Combos, and any combination of multiple attack buttons.

We expect many hardened Street Fighter veterans will be upset by the move, but given the series' dependance on insanely tricky stick-wiggling precision, it's sure to make things more fun for the rest of us.
