EA Mobile touts vehicular combat as big selling point

Military shooter Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on iPhone this November

One of the biggest names in the shooter genre is heading to iPhone and iPod touch next month in Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

The modern day military shooter will follow the storyline as featured in the console version of the same name, though the gameplay obviously differs.

14 missions are promised, but its the nature of those missions that ought to pique your interest. Joining the on-foot action will be vehicular combat, which publisher EA Mobile is highlighting as the game's unique selling point.

It's clear that tanks and helicopters will feature in the single player campaign, but it's unknown if they will be available in multiplayer.

Online play is promised, though EA Mobile has not revealed the maximum number of players supported, whether online play includes 3G or is wi-fi only, what game modes will be offered, nor if local multiplayer will be supported.

First screenshots look okay, but the graphics are a far cry from the stunningly high-definition Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus and highly anticipated sci-fi shooter N.O.V.A. 2.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will be available for iPhone and iPod touch this November.
