[Editor's note: The original version of this story stated that Android games and apps would be available through Vodafone's all you can eat service. In fact, only Java games and apps will be available, on the following handsets: Nokia E65, N85, N95 8GB, N95, N78, N81, N97 Mini, N97, 6303, 6700, E51, E71, N96; Samsung S8300, F480, L810, SEMC C902, C905, W910i, C510, W715, W890i.]

Vodafone has launched an interesting new initiative for gaming on Android, allowing gamers to pay a monthly subscription, and play as many games as they want for free.

It’ll cost €5 a month (about £3.50), and then a huge chunk of Java games and apps from Vodafone’s 360 Store will be open for you to download and play.

Once you quit coughing up the cash, the digital rights management service embedded in each app will shut off, disabling you from playing the game.

Publishers who agree to have their games on the service will be paid a share of the revenue, based on how many downloads and plays their game received.

It’s currently available on 20 handsets from Vodafone, throughout Europe.

What are your thoughts? Do you like choosing which games you want to buy, and keep, or would you be up for subscribing to an all you can eat service?
