Mega Man Legends 3 Project announced for 3DS

The blue bomber is back. Mega Man Legends will be receiving a long awaited third game on 3DS. Capcom revealed the new title at Nintendo’s press conference in Japan, yesterday.

Often quoted as series creator Keiji Inafune’s favourite Mega Man game, despite its lacklustre sales, Legends was a 3D platformer on PS2, N64, and PC with a small cult following. Inafune has often expressed interest in making a third game in the series.

If you’re unfamiliar with the series, it’s quite unlike any other Mega Man game. Instead of being a platformer, Legends is an action-RPG, complete with quests, loot, a giant free-roaming world, and towns filled with characters you can chat to.

The Japanese game studio has refrained from revealing too much on the game - if anything at all, seeing as all we have is the logo, the title and the fact that the game’s story follows directly from Mega Man Legends 2.

If you want to get caught up on the story, both Legends games are also available on PSP.
