Space Miner: Space Ore Bust on iPhone refines price to £1.19/$1.99

The worryingly addictive Space Miner: Space Ore Bust has seen its price reduced by 60 per cent as part of a special ‘Back to school’ sale today.

Space Miner is an odd mixture of role-playing game and Asteroids, and it sees the player mine out rocks and enemy robots with the familiar gameplay of the latter title in order to earn levels, unlock new sectors, and purchase a wide-range of equipment.

Thankfully, this being set in a comedy hillbilly future, refining these chunks of rocks into saleable material is as easy as flying close to them for the tractor beam to pick up. There’s also a rather excellent banjo soundtrack playing underneath, should you forget to turn on your own music.

It managed to blow up a chunk of medals and refine a Pocket Gamer Silver Award earlier this year, so it’s well worth setting a course for.

Space Miner: Space Ore Bust is available on the App Store at £1.19 / $1.99 for an unspecified limited time, but it’s safe to assume that it’ll end once everyone’s back at school.
