The cutting edge of social games (should such a thing exist) appears to have moved from the farm to the Wild West, but that hasn't stopped the ripples of FarmVille continuing to spread.

The DSi is now getting its taster thanks to French outfit BiP Media.

My Farm hands you an empty field, a chicken and challenges you to get on with building an agro corporation.

You'll have to fed your hen to get it to lay eggs, which you can sell and buy new animals at the farmers' market and purchase equipment from the shopkeeper.

As you build up your stocks, you get to unlock bonuses such as a wind turbine, rooster, guard dog and tractor.

Farmer, farmer

There are six animal types, from duck to pig and cow, which you can customise and swap with other My Farm players using the DSi's adhoc wi-fi connection.

Of course, you'll have to look after your animals in terms of feeding, cleaning and healing them so they provide you with the produce you need to sell to progress.

My Farm is available in the US DSi Shop now and will be in Europe on September 3, priced at 200 Nintendo Points.

You can also find out more information from the game's website.
