DoDonPachi Resurrection hitting iPhone August 26th

Cave’s mental iPhone shooter DoDonPachi Resurrection now has a confirmed release date. The bullet-hell shmup will be blasting, dodging, and powering-up on compatible iDevices on August 26th.

To commemorate its release, the game will debut at a special discount price of £2.99 / $4.99 / €3.99, before climbing back to its standard price of £5.49 / $8.99 / €6.99 just four days later. Get in quick if you want some save some cash.

The game features both iPhone and Arcade modes, like previous Cave app Espgaluda II, giving both a direct port of the coin-op cab and a mode tweaked and tuned specifically for the iDevice of your choice.

It’s also got practice modes, to get your head around the hyper cannons and SM gauges and energy charges, and OpenFeint support for achievements, leaderboards, and the like.

The game is only compatible on the latest and greatest iDevices, though, so make sure your wonder gadget is up to snuff before plonking down the cash. iPhones must be the spiffy new 4 or 3GS models, while iPod touchs must be a third generation 32 or 64GB model. Oh, and it’ll work on iPad, too.

DoDonPachi Resurrection will be reporting to the iPhone and iPod touch App Store on August 26th. Start charging your hyper cannon now.
