Galaxy Tablet firmware leaks, points to 1GHz processor
Screen might not be the sharpest
It seems Samsung’s forthcoming iPad rival, the Galaxy Tab, will resemble its little brother the Galaxy S in more ways than one.
Not only do the two look very similar (and sport a similar name), it seems they share a processor to boot. Samsung Firmwares claims to have seen the tablet’s firmware which, it says, confirms that the Galaxy Tab will sport a 1GHz Hummingbird processor.
The processor is a proven performer, so it’s nothing to worry about. Perhaps more worthy of concern is the nature of the screen - it was also discovered that the 7-inch screen will run at the same 800x480 resolution as the Galaxy S.
We’re sure the Galaxy Tab will be quick enough, but will it be sharp enough?
Elsewhere, the website confirmed a 3.2-megapixel rear-mounted camera and a smaller front-mounted version for video calling. It'll run on the latest Android OS, 2.2 or FroYo.
