The march of 3D into every conceivable electronic device continued today with Sharp announcing that it’s working on a 3D smartphone.

Using the same technology as the Nintendo 3DS, the as-yet-unnamed smartphone will be capable of displaying images with depth without the need for those cool anaglyph glasses that friend of Biff’s wore in Back to the Future.

The phone will also come with a 3D camera, capable of taking shots similar, again, to that of the 3DS. In fact, strip out the wide range of games support and Mario, and add 3G, and you’re on the right track.

No specific specs are available as yet, but the company has revealed that it is looking to release the phone worldwide before the end of 2010.
