Pokemon Black and White to feature an entirely new cast of creatures

In a personal blog post, the director of GameFreaks Junichi Masuda has confirmed that the next Pokemon game will focus entirely around a new selection of the adorable, pun-heavy creatures.

The changes were made so that newcomers and experienced players will arrive on equal footing, and is an attempt to capture the spirit of discovery from the original Red and Blue games.

Comments from testers have been positive about the changes, with one reportedly commenting that it meant that Black and White felt like ‘playing something completely new’.

Fear not, though, Pikachu and Slowpoke fans – old favourites will make an appearance once the game has been cleared.
