Splinter Cell Conviction HD for iPad sneaks out tomorrow

Gameloft has supersized Ubisoft’s favourite spy, Sam Fisher, by bringing his stealth action game Splinter Cell Conviction over from iPhone to iPad.

The game, which has Sam uncovering a White House conspiracy as a renegade spy, is a typical Gameloft iPad port, which sees the iPhone edition stretched to the tablet’s new screen size and given spiffy new visuals for the high resolution screen.

The covert adventure features 11 levels, set in eight locations around the world from Iraq to the White House. And while the game is heavily based on its Xbox 360 counterpart, the mobile edition features an exclusive level set on the banks of the Potomac River.

It also features many of the gameplay traits of the console game, with back-of-box bullet points like Mark & Execute, Last Known Position and the cinematic projected text nicked from ABC's Fringe.

The game is out right now in New Zealand, which means it’ll appear on UK and US iTunes stores tomorrow morning. It'll cost £5.99 / $9.99 / €7.99.
