Michael Jackson’s replacement unearthed in Plants vs Zombies iPhone: disco zombie

The king (of pop) is dead. Long live the king (of disco).

After pulling the Michael Jackson-inspired dancing zombie from its hit tower defence title, Plants vs Zombies, developer PopCap has announced its replacement.

Staying undead for the foreseeable future as the disco zombie is none other than this Saturday Night Fever-themed character.

From a time that fashion forgot wanders this afro-packing, gold chain-jangling, bell bottoms-sporting ghoul onto the iPhone platform.

A PopCap representative was kind enough to introduce the newbie to the watching world: ‘I can confirm that there is in fact a new “disco zombie” and I would really appreciate if you could “be nice to the new guy”…the disco zombie is starting to feel like a second class zombie citizen, which is really unfair considering the length of time he spent doing his hair!’

If, of course, you’d still prefer to protect your beloved plants from a moonwalking MJ, rather than this Tony Manero-styled spirit, then make sure you ignore the App Store update badge.
