iPhone pirate shooter Plunderland sailing west, arrives at midnight
How appropriate, you fight like a cow
We've been looking forward to this one. Plunderland, described by Pocket Gamer's Jon Jordan as “a bit like Pocket God meets Angry Birds and The Horrible Vikings", is the latest game from studio Johnny Two Shoes, and it looks like a cracker.
The aim of the game is to plunder on the high seas. You move by tilting your iPhone to bob along the waves, and shoot by dragging your finger across the screen to launch projectiles at other ships, sharks, and islands.
Plunderland is optimised for the iPhone 4 Retina display, but it scales down for other iPhone and iPod touch models. Its declared features include 'The land loving Empire', 'Creaky flying machines', 'Wonky sea structures with cannons', and 'Mad monsters with flesh eating fantasies'. There are three campaigns and a Survival mode.
Plunderland is on the New Zealand App Store now, and should be reaching the UK at midnight tonight. It costs $4.19 in Kiwi dollars, which translates to USD $2.99 and £1.79.
