Take a final summer kick with Champion Striker
Spanish studio Mutant Games basking in victory
The World Cup is over, but it lives on for Spanish developer Mutant Games, which is celebrating its national team's success with penalty shoot out game Champion Striker.
It comes with both striker and keeper modes.
Playing as the striker, you have flick the ball into the net, with highlighted areas providing you with extra points. You can add spin and curve to your shot depending on how you flick the ball, and there are special power ups and ball types.
In the keeper mode, you tilt to move your gloves, hopefully into a shot-stopping position.
All kicking offScore are recorded and logged with achievements and leaderboards handled using the OpenFeint social platform, plus there's Twitter and Facebook integration.
"We felt that none of the other penalty games in the App Store offered a complete experience - in Champion Striker you can be the goalkeeper, taking advantage of the iPhone's accelerometer, or play a penalty round against a friend in the bar," said Daniel Fernandez, CEO of Mutant Games.
In addition, Mutant has made its other football game Go! Go! Soccer free, and you can download the music to Champion Striker from its website too.
Champion Striker is available now, priced 99c, €0.79 or 59p.
