One morning last November, former Pocket Gamer news editor Spanner Spencer disappeared for several hours from the team Skype chat. It was an uncharacteristic absence. He finally emerged at around lunchtime. “Sorry lads, been playing some driving game for preview.

"It's a bit bloody good.”

That game was Jet Car Stunts, and it turned out to be one of our favourite games of 2009.

Developer True Axis has just got in touch to let us know that the latest Jet Car Stunts update has been submitted to Apple, and it's a biggy. 26 extra platform levels are now available as DLC for £1.19 / $1.99, the original Impossible levels are now playable in Casual mode, and there's now full screen anti-aliasing on iPhone 3GS and iPhone touch 3G.

Being an iOS 4 update, it also allows task-switching, but this is confined to iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G because task-switching isn't possible on earlier models.

If you have an iPhone 4, you can also enjoy new high definition graphics optimised for the Retina display.

Jet Car Stunts is available on the App Store now for £1.19 / $1.99.

Check out the screenshots above and the video below to see the DLC levels in action.
