Nintendo hasn't yet revealed how much the E3 show-stealing 3DS will cost, but analysts have been on hand to give us a glimpse into the future. Colin Sebastian of Lazard Capital Markets has put it at $250-300, while Michael Pachter last week said that at anything under $300 the 3DS would fly from the shelves.

Going on previous US to UK conversions, that would probably make it about £220-260 over here – a high price for a handheld console.

Or, if Dutch online retailer Bartsmit is to be believed, it'll be 169.95 euros – just 20 euros more than DSi on the same site. If Bartsmit is right, even if the sterling conversion is 1:1 the 3DS will be considerably cheaper than current estimates suggest.

The listing also gives a date - March 15th 2011- which makes sense given Nintendo's usual pattern of spring hardware launches in Europe.
