Rockstar North is hiring a DS and Mobile programmer

Rockstar North, the Edinburgh development house best known for developing the console editions of Grand Theft Auto, is looking for a new recruit. And this time, they want someone to work on just about every system under the sun.

So while the new Junior Physics Programmer will be working on the systems Rockstar North typically handles, like Xbox 360 and PS3, they'll also be expected to work on Mobile phones, PSP, and DS, if the job description is accurate.

Rockstar's been behind a few handheld games in its time, including Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (DS, PSP, and iPhone), Beaterator (PSP and iPhone) and the 'Stories' GTA spin-offs (PSP). But all have come from the developer's other branches, such as Rockstar Leeds.

So if the job postings are true, this would be the first time that the Rockstar mothership has produced its own handheld game. We could go for an iPhone version of Red Dead Redemption right now, how about you?
