Apple has today confirmed the iPad will land on UK shores on 28 May. As noted previously, UK punters can pre-order all iPad models from Apple’s online stores on 10 May.

The wi-fi only flavour iPad will set you back £429 for 16GB, £499 for 32GB, £599 for 64GB.

The 3G version of the tablet will carry a £100 premium over its wi-fi only counterpart at £529 for 16GB, £599 for 32GB and £699 for 64GB.

The magical and revolutionary iPad will be sold at a very believable price through the Apple online Store, Apple's retail stores and select Apple authorised resellers – rumoured to include Currys and PC World.

Thankfully, the rather swish-looking iBooks app, complete with iBookstore, will also be available on 28 May as a free download from the App Store.

In the US, Apple has already sold over one million iPads and customers have downloaded over 12 million apps from the App Store, as well as over 1.5 million ebooks from the new iBookstore.
