More impressive tech demo goodness

Whenever you read about the death of home consoles, technology like this is what's expected to wield the knife. Like its more famous cousin OnLive, OTOY is a service that streams games to your device remotely.

We wrote about it last November when it was seen in action running GTA IV on a Samsung mobile.

Inevitably, amidst the Easter weekend's iPad hype a video has hit YouTube of an iPad using OTOY to run Crysis, the notoriously CPU-intensive PC first-person shooter from Crytek. Check it out on TechCrunch.

This isn't particularly new, except insofar as the iPad might actually be a sufficiently large device to make Crysis and games like it genuinely playable, rather than just impressive on a technical level.

OTOY will be officially launched in 'Q2 2010', while OnLive has the more specific launch date of June 17th.
