Friday Freebie: Sackboy threads, and Pictionary...

| Friday Freebie

Can’t bring yourself to spend 59 per cent of a hard earned pound (or, err, 99 per cent of a dollar) on a game for your iPhone? Begrudge the cripplingly high £2.49 price point of PSN minis? Then you’re in the right place, as the Friday Freebie seeks only to reduce your free time, not your bank balance.

But after that rather assured beginning, we find the wind taken out of our sales somewhat by a paucity of good freebies on any format but the iPhone.

This week’s PSN Store update hasn’t been kind to penny pinchers and serves up only the Islands Costume, for LittleBigPlanet, at no cost. So if you feel like treating your SackPerson to some new threads, head over to the PSP Store now – you know he or she will love it.

As ever, the DSiWare Shop remains staunchly averse to providing gratuitous game downloads, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled, don’t you worry.

As for the iPhone, we would highly recommend you pick up Depict, which is a brilliant free Pictionary style game (in the vein of the excellent browser based iSketch). Simply download, sign in to your OpenFeint account, and score points by guessing the pictures, which appear before your eyes, correctly. It sounds simple, but the best things often are.

For more free iPhone goodness, make sure you read the latest Trawler Report, which will guide you with unerring hand to exceptional entertainment that won’t bother your purse strings.

And do have a listen to the latest iPhone gaming podcast, which discusses the brilliant (and, of course, free) We Rule. See you next week.
