While I'm not convinced every iPhone game will work well in larger iPad form - see Doodle Blast! - it seems that the Asteroids-meets-Spider-Man-inspired Tractor Beam should be okay.

Developed by Manufacturing Content, it's a game where you have to slingshot your ship through an asteroid field using only your tractor beam - of course - while also avoiding collisions with the asteroids you're using for motion.

Already available on the iPhone in portrait or landscape orientation, and with multi-touch controls, Tractor Beam seems to be well set up for iPad launch deployment.

Indeed, the game will be released as a universal application so if you've already got the iPhone or iPod touch game, you'll be able to download the iPad version for free.

You can see how it plays here.

Otherwise Tractor Beam will cost you 99c, €0.79 or 59p.
