Originally released for Newton, Deep Green chess now coming to iPad
The Queen turns full circle
When iPad was announced, Dave Castelnuovo of Pocket God developer Bolt Creative said "iPad is the ultimate virtual chess board".
While we doubt this will be the only such reveal, it's good to announce that Cocoa Stuff's Deep Green chess game will be making the step up to iPad.
Significantly, the original version of the game was made for Apple's failed Newton device - something the iPad is seen as being the spiritual successor to.
As for new features - we certainly expect on-device head-to-head play - Cocoa Stuff's Joachim Bondo has yet to pass further comment.
But considering his history with the game over a decade, and the excellent iPhone version currently available, we'd expect Deep Green HD (or whatever it's called) to be one of the better iPad chess games.
