Glu Mobile uses Glyder engine for How to Train Your Dragon iPhone game

Video games based on films have a very depressing history. Without wanting to caricature the process too much, a studio can either spend money on a licence or on a game. When it spends its money on a licence, you usually know what you're going to get.

However, there's a good chance that this is a good one, since it runs in the Glyder engine. Glyder 2, in case you didn't know, was our favourite game of last year, winning an impressive Platinum Award at review.

The key difference between How to Train Your Dragon and Glyder appears to be that you fly rather than glide. The game is based on the imminent Dreamworks CGI movie about dragons.

The game is out now on the App Store for £1.79/$3.
