de Blob Revolution out now on iPhone
THQ’s new finger painting puzzler released
THQ Wireless has released a follow-up to the really rather decent iPhone splat-’em-up, de Blob. de Blob Revolution is no straight sequel, though.
This new take on the quirky colour-filling universe, which first saw light on the Wii, appears to be a fairly straightforward path-drawing puzzler. You must sketch out a route for our blobby friend, touching all of the imprisoned graydians (who promptly burst into colour and spring after our hero) en route to the level exit. Cross your own path, however, and you’ll have to start again.
The game boasts three game modes and five difficulty levels, with the hardest pitching INKT agents against you.
With the focus of the game honed in from the sprawling open levels of the first game, the graphics have received a dramatic overhaul. The characters now boast the sort of bold, detailed style last seen in the console original.
de Blob Revolution is out now on the App Store for £1.79/$2.99.
