GDC 2010: Street Fighter IV ready to rumble on iPhone

Street Fighter IV is now available for iPhone and iPod touch.

Capcom's beloved fighting series comes to iPhone with a small roster of 8 characters including Ken, Ryu, Guile, Blanka, Chun Li, and Abel.

The roster's a good one, though the lack of unlockable fighters is a disappointment.

A Dojo mode helps to get you acquainted with the touch controls, which leverage virtual buttons for pulling off super combos, ultra combos, focus attacks, and other special moves.

The ability to configure the placement of the buttons on the screen offers a bit of customisation that should ease the learning curve.

Additionally, there's an option to tap a "SP" button to execute special moves should tangling your fingers up on the screen proves troublesome.

Practicing is essential before competing with a buddy via Bluetooth multiplayer. Head-to-head matches are obviously supported.

Street Fighter IV is available now for iPhone and iPod touch at a price of £5.99/$9.99.
