Twilight: New Moon Movie Game

Anyone who's ever caught an edition of Mastermind, the celebrity version or otherwise, will know that the contestants have a knack for picking the most bizarre specialist subjects.

From the life and times of some unknown Italian artist to the inner workings of of a torch manufacturing plant, you can be sure they've all been covered at some point in the series' history.

One of the most bizarre I ever saw, however, was back at Christmas, when Diane-Louise Jordan of Blue Peter fame plumped for TV series Brothers & Sisters. How mundane a topic, I thought. How plain. How boring.

Patty for Pattinson

For everyone who isn't currently enthralled with the day to day adventures of fluffy filmstar Robert Pattinson, then Twilight: New Moon Movie Game is to you what Diane-Louise Jordan's limp attempt to recite her somewhat basic knowledge of Brothers & Sisters was to me.

Taking the form of a quiz - identical in set-up to its predecessor - this is the sole domain of the franchise's fans. Everyone else need not, and indeed should not, apply.

The concept is a simple one, players charged with answering a series of multiple choice questions dished out at random. The quicker the correct answer is found, the more points are amounted, the idea being to notch up the biggest total possible before the game's end.

Lacking heart

With just three lives on offer, however, being first off the mark isn't always the smartest move. Get your answers wrong, and Twilight: New Moon Movie Game is a very short experience indeed, the questions that delve into the most minute script details no doubt even putting mega-fans on the back foot.

Yet again, there's a multiplayer mode tossed in for good measure - up to four players taking turns to answer the same questions - but it's a shame the developer didn't see fit to expand the experience beyond this basic approach in any way.

There's nothing wrong with serving up a quiz, especially when the subject of choice is likely to have a band of especially loyal followers. But for a sequel, Twilight: New Moon Movie Game sadly serves up nothing new except for the questions themselves.

Twilight: New Moon Movie Game

Yet another quiz served up for fans of the franchise, Twilight: New Moon Movie Game does nothing new and offers little for anyone not wrapped up in Pattinson and co.
