Apple iPad rumoured to go on pre-order February 25th

Launch date yet to be confirmed

Apple iPad rumoured to go on pre-order February 25th

During the rather exciting iPad announcement by Steve Jobs, the Apple CEO didn't actually give a specific launch date for the non-3G iPad. He merely said it'd be available in "60 days", which puts its expected release within March.

AppAdvice seems to think that wonderful day is closing in, and cites February 25th as the day that iPad pre-orders will go live. An unnamed source has apparently tipped the site off about Apple's pre-order date, but nothing is currently set in stone.

It also suggests this pre-order will be US only (bah), with an estimation for the actual shipping date at March 29th, being exactly 60 days since Steve was up on stange fondling an iPad (our reports say March 27th).

There's nothing on the official Apple US page about pre-orders yet, and there's every chance Cupertino might go the first come first served route yet, as it did with the iPhone release.

The 3GS went on pre-order, mind you, so priming your credit card probably wouldn't be unwise those eager early adopters.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
