X2 Snowboarding races out onto iPhone's powder

There's no shortage of snowboarding games on iPhone (or any of the mobile platforms, for that matter), but the great ones are few and far between.

Jon recently got his hands on X2 Snowboarding, which promises to take big air, long mountains and cool but hot powder to new extremes, and now you can too as it's just hit the App Store.

X2 Snowboarding has seen a pretty extensive development by Exient Studios, which had a ten man team ploughing through its code for six months (a long time for an iPhone development).

The game features character animations made using full motion capture, along with an in-game rewind function in case you missed something important, a bullet-time system for pulling off tricks (oo-er), Bluetooth and local wi-fi multiplayer and a soundtrack featuring music from the likes of Quantic, Bonobo (awesome) and Mr Scruff.

It's not a small download at just under 90MB, so get it running now while you go and have a sandwich.

Plant one on the App Store button to go and check it out.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
