Send your iPhone back to hell

Doom II RPG out now on iPhone

The iPhone clearly caught id Software's attention, and it promised to begin a rolling process of retro adaptations from its impressive back catalogue.

But you'll also recall that it made some RPG adjustments to several of its games to better fit the mobile platform, which worked incredibly well by allowing for the usual freedom of movement during exploration, then switching to turn-based fighting mechanics when faced with an enemy.

It was still a bit of a shock to wake up this morning, run to the App Store, and find a Doom RPG sequel waiting for us. The mobile version landed itself a well-earned Silver Award, so expectations are high for the iPhone iteration.

We should have a full review ready for you very soon, so stay tuned to find out whether a return ticket to hell is worth the price.
