Super Frog confirmed for iPhone and iPad

Frogger's super-powered third cousin, twice removed

Super Frog confirmed for iPhone and iPad

I don't know if it was luck, skill, or woman's intuition that I stumbled onto the title of Revolutionary Concept's new iPhone game - and inaugural iPad game - Super Frog when we showed off the first screenshots of this exciting new 3D arcade adventure.

Melbourne-based Revolutionary Concepts previously partnered with Japanese game company G-Mode, to bring a remastered adaptation of the classic laserdisc game Cobra Command to iPhone, and now it's working with Russian developer Tangible Games to unleash Super Frog on the world.

The game borrows from sci-fi chestnuts like The Fly, mixed with the casual humour of The Incredibles and blended with gameplay elements inspired by the retro stalwart Frogger. Following the adventure of the eponymous Super Frog, your task is to stop an evil fly genius without getting squashed as you cross the road.

"Super Frog is what happens when developers have too many cans of Red Bull and packets of Doritos, and a distinct lack of sunlight," Revolutionary Concepts founder Wayne Whatford tells us.

With over 50 levels, online scoring, a diverse range of environments and, "loads of gratuitous close-ups of frogs", Super Frog isn't far from submission to Apple. The developer also hopes to have a full iPad version ready for the device's launch - check out the screenshots below.

Keep watching the skies (and any ponds that seem to glow in the dark).

Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
