Sega unexpectedly pulls game from sale

Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games disqualified from the App Store

Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games has unexpectedly been removed from sale on the App Store.

The recently release iPhone and iPod touch game no longer appears for sale and searches for the title are fruitless.

We've contacted Sega for comment and requested information regarding the reason behind the removal. Additionally, we've asked when the game is expected return to sale.

This makes the second Sega release in as many months to have problems following release.

Super Monkey Ball 2 was plagued with complaints from gamers who claimed performance problems rendered it unplayable. Sega denied any issue with the game, stating any problems stemmed from users playing on jail-broken handsets.

We're unsure what would incite Sega to pull Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, though we hope the opportunity is seized to replace it with an improved version.
