New iPhone OS 3.1.3 update fixes battery life reporting, security flaws
|

Yesterday saw the release of the latest update to the iPhone OS, bringing about a number of changes to how the battery life is reported.

iPhone OS 3.1.3 also introduces more protection to the iPhone, fixing an issue that allowed certain unscrupulous individuals the ability to bypass any locks on the machine by directly accessing its physical memory.

This latest version should be one of the last updates before version 3.2 launches with the iPad in March, although Apple hasn’t yet said whether iPhone and iPod touch users will also be receiving the update.

Here’s hoping that at least some of the new features rumoured for introduction in 3.2, like video calling and rotatable home screen, make it across to the iPhone.
