Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games slides out onto App Store

Mario’s not playing, despite Bluetooth multiplayer

Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games slides out onto App Store

Ever since Sega got out of the hardware business, Sonic and Mario have been allowed to play together. That is, until Sonic decided to also go and play with Apple. Mario has taken his bat and ball home as Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games hits the US App Store.

Still, at least Sonic can enjoy a bit of snowboarding, curling, skeleton, and figure skating with ten of his old buddies including Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Eggman, Vector, Blaze, Metal Sonic and Silver.

Strangely enough, the game has been updated just a day after its initial release, bringing a fully operationally four-player multiplayer mode via Bluetooth to the Winter Olympics action. That is, assuming you live in the US.

Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games doesn’t seem to be available in Europe. I can understand the Australians not getting it, given that it’s summer, but there’s no excuse for those of us still buried under the snow. Harumph.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
