Like the immortal undead, it seems there's no hurrying Vampire Origins.

The IceHill-developed and Chillingo-to-be-published iPhone game has been hanging around the release schedules for a while now, although looking back at previous coverage, it's clear some redesigning's been occurring.

What seemed to be more of a static adventure game, in which the main character - Van Helsing - stood motionless while you shot - tapped - the baddies, has been transformed into an all-action experience full of athletic somersaults and explosive shooting.

In general, you're still tapping on the enemies to wipe them out, but their and Van Helsing's movement now transforms the game. And despite this speed up, the graphics look just as good, with the colour palette being particular impressive.

There also appear to be certain scenes which you control using a standard twin-stick approach.

Weapons include Van Helsing's powerful shotgun, pistol and a sword to dice up vampires. Puzzles and exploration gameplay are present and correct too.

You can get an idea how it all plays out in the following video.
