iPhone RPG Zenonia 2 details emerge, multiplayer included

You can't beat a good RPG when it comes to losing precious hours of your life, and the original Zenonia was as greedy a time thief as you can get on iPhone.

The prospect of levelling up, finding something new, or maybe just edging ever-closer to the final outcome makes it hard to step away.

So many of you will probably be reading this with excitement at the prospect of Zenonia 2: The Lost Memories, and what's in store. The company behind Zenonia, Gamevil, told Touch Arcade that there will be four distinct character classes to choose from: Magician, Paladin, Shooter and Warrior.

New difficulty modes will be introduced. The 'Hard' and 'Hell' difficulties will add extra loot and secret boss battles for those who have the necessary skill to complete them. You can also expect ranged attacks to be implemented, as well as over 1200 items for character customisation.

You have to look good, right?

New terrain effects like water will help enhance your viewing pleasure, but more importantly the new interactions with the effect should add new depth to the gameplay. Skidding about on ice would be one example.

All of this is pretty cool, especially if you loved the original. However, one particular mode is by far the most exciting, and it's the asynchronous multiplayer.

It's not quite a true multiplayer experience, but the addition even in this form should be a more than worthy addition to the already excellent Zenonia gameplay. Assuming the AI works, that is.

Zenonia is set to be released around March, and should be another good reason to hold your sword in your hand (ahem).
