Ace Combat: Joint Assault soaring out onto PSP this summer

The Ace Combat series has been fairly hit and miss on PSP, landing itself Silver Awards at times, and flunking out at others. But it's still a damn impressive jet fighter sim with a strong arcade slant, so it's great to hear that Namco is fuelling up for another jaunt into the wide blue yonder.

Ace Combat: Joint Assault is being readied for a summer launch on PSP, and will be set in the skies over real world locations such as Tokyo, London, San Francisco and more.

It also promises a "multi-strategic AI", which evolves the missions depending on the decisions you make while dogfighting with the enemy air force.

Joint Assault will focus more toward multiplayer gaming, allowing for an eight player online Versus mode or flying with four other players in co-op campaigns.

Ace Combat: Joint Assault is currently slated for a summer 2010 launch on PSP. No word as to whether Namco is also planning to expand on the Ace Combat series on iPhone, though.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
