One of the things that really brought Secret Exit's sublime, meditative puzzler Zen Bound to life was the depth and richness of its textures.

The award-winning developer has revealed the first look at Zen Bound 2, which appears to make use of the iPhone 3GS's OpenGL ES 2.0 functionality to really make the objects live and breathe.

The stunning-looking game began as a 3GS-enhanced version of the original Zen Bound, though Secret Exit told TouchArcade, "Zen Bound 3GS project has grown beyond a simple graphical upgrade. Our current plans are to give this game the time it needs and release a full-fledged sequel. Zen Bound 2 it is."

It's apparently still a long way from release, but we can expect to hear more about Zen Bound 2 in the coming weeks. In the meantime, check out the two comparison pictures posted by Secret Exit.

Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
