Google Nexus One product page put up by mistake

And swiftly taken down again

Google Nexus One product page put up by mistake

We’re mere hours away from the official announcement of Google’s very own Android phone, the Nexus One, and the internet is chomping at the bit for any scraps of information. Some fairly meaty chunks have recently been released from an unexpected source - Google itself.

According to TmoNews, a Nexus One product page appeared briefly on Google’s website, only to be swiftly withdrawn. Nothing outpaces the speedy pinky of an internet blogger, though, and the following screen shot was duly taken:

The Terms of Sale page was also viewed (though not snapped), but apparently there’s nothing major to report on that front.

Rather more noteworthy was the nature of the video displayed on the above screenshot. It’s an intro to the Android 2.0 operating system, but we know that the Nexus will feature the all-new Android 2.1.

Having said that, there’s a good chance this was just inserted as a place-holder until the proper 2.1 video has been finalised.

Google will be holding a press conference at 10am PST, so keep your eyes peeled for more news.
