Android hackers bring Motorola Milestone multi-touch to US Droid

The Motorola Droid may have promised to do everything the iPhone couldn’t when it was launched in the states recently but one feature that was conspicuous by its absence was multi-touch screen commands.

Surprisingly, this element was omitted from the Droid but is available in its European equivalent, the Milestone.

Proving that where there’s a will there’s a way, industrious hackers have succeeded in porting the Milestone ROM over to the US Droid, thus enabling this highly desirable feature.

Check out the video footage for the proof - although if you’re going to go installing hacked firmware on your shiny new Droid, be warned that you do so at your own risk and if you come running to us when it all goes pear-shaped we’ll plug our fingers in our ears, hum to the tune to the new X-Factor single and pretend we can’t hear you.
