If slightly saccharine American sitcoms are your bag, you've probably raised a guilty smile or two at The Big Bang Theory, and pocket gamers will have felt particularly close to theoretical physicist and social maladept Sheldon Cooper the other week when he casually dropped iPhone game Doodle Jump into conversation.

Whether an unsolicited mention on TV has much of an impact on sales we really couldn't say, but developer Igor Pusenjak of Lima Sky got in touch this morning to tell us that Doodle Jump has just crossed the 1 million downloads mark.

Doodle Jump, which involves careful use of the accelerometer to guide your bouncing pocket pal from platform to platform without falling off the bottom of the screen, has enjoyed another protracted stint at the App Store top spot thanks to a cheerful Christmas redecorating.

For more in-depth info on Doodle Jump, check our exclusive interview with its creators over on PocketGamer.biz. And if you're one of the few people who don't own Doodle Jump already, hit the App Store button to go and give your iPhone an early Christmas pressie.
