| Friday Freebie

Hurrah, the year’s best PSP game, Little Big Planet (not officially, but it did get a Platinum Award on this here site), is now available in demo form for all those who pass through the PSP’s merry online emporium, the PSP Store.

It’s been out on the American and Chinese PSP stores for quite a stretch now but, at last, the European version has gone live and just in time to inspire a few more Christmas sales, no doubt. It really is a marvelous title and all that is great about gaming. If you don’t download it, then you have no right whatsoever to moan about the PSP’s festive line-up. And that’s final.

As for the DS, a prolonged and probably never ending drought has forced us to improvise this week in what we are going to call, Harry Potter and the Multi-Coloured Bricks of Doom.

For this freebie (and we use that term not just loosely, but undone completely) you will need a free copy of a Harry Potter book – any will do as they are all pretty much the same. You can procure this online via various nefarious methods that we won’t go into. If you’re really daft, you could use a twig (there should be loads lying about this time of year) as a makeshift wand to try and zap one into existence out of thin air.

The second thing you will need is some Lego. There’s no two ways about this, your either going to have to borrow or steal it from a child. Once you have these two ingredients in your possession, proceed to read the book, stopping every two pages to do some more work on your Lego reconstruction of Ron’s enormous copper buffont (you’ll need lots of orange bricks). Ten points to Gryffindor!

By doing this, you will, in essence, be one step closer to playing Lego Harry Potter, but no closer to getting anything for free on the DS, ever.

As for the iPhone, there’s the both the podcast, the free iPhone games Trawler Report and, of course, the Appvent Calendar we told you about last week. That’s it for now, though. Click ‘Track It!’ to get a reminder as soon as next week’s freebie lot goes live.
