Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X takes flight on the iPhone

With its unique ability for control using the inbuilt accelerometer, the iPhone has proven itself time and time again to be well suited to air combat games.

And, tailing Ace Combat Xi: Skies of Incursion's vapour trail, the latest title in the genre to be released onto the App Store is Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X.

Locking on to the failings of Ace Combat, Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X. features 26 licensed planes including the F-14A Tomcat, Mirage 2000C, F-117 Nighthawk and the Eurofighter Typhoon, all of which can be flown in an extensive 13 mission single player campaign.

We previewed H.A.W.X. November, and were impressed with the varied mission objectives. Combine this with the famous Tom Clancy license and iPhone hotshots can expect more than your standard dogfight.

With local multiplayer mode via wi-fi or Bluetooth for up to four players it’s unlikely that H.A.W.X. will be able to take down F.A.S.T as top gun, but the single player campaign appears to be more than worth the £3.99/$6.99 price tag.

We’re closing in on a review in the next couple of days. If you just can’t wait that long follow the App Store link below.
