Apparently talks have begun

Call of Duty movie in the works

It was inevitable, really.

According The Escapist, Kevin McKidd (the voice of 'Soap' in Modern Warfare 1 and 2) has said talks have begun for a Call of Duty movie. No script or cast list has yet surfaced.

"They were looking for a rough, Scottish actor in Hollywood they probably couldn't get Gerard Butler, so they got the No. 2 Gerard Butler, me. I had no idea it would be so huge," McKidd originally told the NY Post when he was asked why he was chosen to do the soldier's voice.

When asked whether he would want to be in the film McKidd said, "If the script is good, and Gerard isn't available [laughs], then absolutely."

There's no denying the potential of a Call of Duty film, but the history of game to film translations hasn't been a distinguished one. Let's hope this bucks the trend.
