SGN takes to the air again with Skies of Glory

Having sold 1.8 million copies of its modern air combat game F.A.S.T., publisher SGN is sticking to the aerial shooter theme for its next iPhone game.

Called Skies of Glory, it set in World War II and will have you flying Spitfires, Mustangs, Zeroes and the like, with 10 campaigns set in either the Battle of Britain or Pacific theatres, across 100 missions.

It uses a similar control system - accelerometer and touch buttons to fire - to F.A.S.T. but according to Venture Beat's Dean Takahashi, the game has been developed using a new technology engine.

Multiplayer will be a major feature, both in terms of Bluetooth and wi-fi options, and you'll be able to play in a free-for-all mode or in team-based games.

And in keeping with SGN's promise about supporting Apple's freemium business model, Skies of Glory will be a free release with players paying for better planes and equipment upgrades; something it also plans for F.A.S.T..

Skies of Glory is due to be released before the end of 2009.
