Technically this is an application, but anyone who subscribes to Al Lowe’s CyberJoke 3000 email will be delighted to hear that the Sierra adventure game pioneer has turned his funny bone on the iPhone.

For those of you who don’t know Al, he’s something of an adventure game celebrity after creating the hilariously salacious Leisure Suit Larry franchise, which rocked the Amiga and PC worlds back in 1987 when the Prurient Prince of Polyester caused rampant controversy and mirth as he attempted to find love in all the wrong places (metaphorically and literally).

Anyway, Al’s CyberJoke 3000 is a daily email that stuffs a couple of edgy, but always work-friendly, jokes up your inbox, and now it’s available on iPhone.

The difference with the Apple laughs is the addition of 110 spoken jokes read by professional voice talent Chuck Myers, so you can listen as well as read. It also features a unique punch-line protection system, in case your eyes are faster than your funny bone.

"I wanted people to enjoy these jokes the way they really should be: heard, not read!" All tells us with his usual bucket fulls of buoyant good humour.

Updates are planned that will allow you to share your favourite CyberJoke entries with friends over Facebook, and another ton of spoken jokes already in the planning. So if you fancy a bit of something to brighten your Monday morning commute, hit the 'Buy It!' button to go check out Al Lowe’s CyberJoke 3000.

Then go an buy yourself a white suit, and we’ll meet you at Lefty's Bar for lady’s night.

Spanner Spencer
Spanner Spencer
Yes. Spanner's his real name, and he's already heard that joke you just thought of. Although Spanner's not very good, he's quite fast, and that seems to be enough to keep him in a regular supply of free games and away from the depressing world of real work.
