Back in the day, Rob wrote an article in our brainstorming series 'If X was a mobile game...' about the potential of a game based on Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr Fox book.

And as can happen in this world of billions of monkeys with typewriters, such a thing has duly come to pass - well, there's an iPhone game based on Wes Anderson's film based on Dahl's book.

Sadly however, publisher Fox Mobile didn't refer to Rob's excellent design, which had Mr Fox causing bloody mayhem as he stole turkeys, geese and chickens from those farmers Boggis, Bunce and Bean, before digging a hide so deep they couldn't get him.

Instead, you get to play various topdown accelerometer-controlled levels that have you controlling Mr Fox and making sure he doesn't get spiked by the various obstacles placed around his path.

Not really in keeping with the film, let alone the book we fear.

However we still live in hope that our designs for 'If Trainspotting or Black Death was a mobile game...' may get a look in at some point in the future.

Fantastic Mr Fox is available now - although not on the US App Store for some reason - priced €0.79p or 59p. Hit the Buy It! button to get there.
