Apple achieved another significant milestone with its widely popular App Store for iPhone and iPod Touch today, announcing more than 100,000 are available.

What's truly staggering is that figure comes only a little more than a month after the company touted 85,000 apps were being sold in late September.

Since that announcement, 15,000 apps have been added in the month of October and first week of November.

No update on the quantity of apps that have been sold, though Apple maintains that more than 2 billion copies of the various apps on the store have been sold.

While Apple's senior vice preside of worldwide product marketin Philip Schiller was predictably ecstatic about the news, EA Mobile vice president of worldwide studios Travis Boatman marked the significance of the occasion.

"The App Store has forever changed the mobile gaming industry and continues to improve," he stated.

EA Mobile currently has 8 titles in the top 100 paid chart and 13 of the top 100 grossing. Gameloft comes in second with 4 games in the top 100 paid, 9 in the top grossing charts.
